June 6, 2009 Meeting
It was announced that starting next month we will be meeting at the Church in their upstairs facilities. Please enter at the main front door of the Church rather than the side door. The downstairs facilities will no longer available for regular monthly meeting rentals. However, we may periodically schedule the downstairs facilities for special events availability permitting.
A picnic will be held on the fourth Saturday this month, June 27, 2009 from 4:00 - 9:00 PM at our regular meeting place the Unitarian Universalist Church. The picnic is sponsored by SNR and is open to everyone from all local transgender groups. The cost is $10 per person. We will be using the downstairs facilities and lawn area for this event. Food will be provided by the group, but bringing a covered dish of your favorite specialty is always welcome.
The New Jersey Support group’s Holiday Party is scheduled for December 5, 2009 from 8:00 - 10:30 PM at The Nevermore in New Hope, Pennsylvania. The cost, which includes taxes and gratuities, will be $32 per person and will include salad or soup and a choice of three entrees.
Our regular pre meeting social is now scheduled at the Raven in New Hope, Pennsylvania. No reservations are required. Soda and drinks as well as light meals are available at the bar. You may arrive at any time, enjoy the whole afternoon if your scheduled permits.
Our monthly dinner at Bowman’s Tavern will be moved to a different night than the meeting allowing for a more relaxed evening. The schedule for the dinner was discussed at the meeting, with the Friday night before the meeting or an alternate Saturday night being the prime candidates. It was agreed that we would try both, and possibility alternate. Or next dinner at Bowman’s is scheduled for Friday July 3 at 8:00 PM. Please contact Kara to make a reservation before Tuesday June 30th.
As always, food and refreshments were served. The group welcomed one new member this evening, near twenty were in attendance. Members socialized after the general meeting and announcements as there was no formal program.
Our next scheduled meeting is Saturday July 4, 2009. This will be primarily a social meeting with no formal program or speaker scheduled. An open forum discussion group will also be held for members interested in a focused round table venue.
