Mission Statement

New Jersey Support Group provides a cultural medium for all identifying as transgender, transsexual, or crossdresser in New Jersey and East Pennsylvania through which we can give and receive support by sharing our diverse life experiences as gifted individuals. To help our brothers and sisters to recognize and derive strength from the common bond that we share and to further the ongoing success of the transgender community in achieving a greater level of acceptance from main stream society as a whole.

Who We Are

We are a nonprofit support group open to all transgender individuals, their spouses, significant others, family, and friends. Our membership is diverse, with individuals identifying as transgender, transsexual, crossdresser, F2M, M2F, and gender queer. We encourage the attendance of professionals in all fields, or any person who may want to learn about the transgender individual, our community, lifestyle, challenges, and goals.

Objective

Our immediate focus is on providing a relaxed, noncompetitive, informal, and safe atmosphere for any or all members of the transgender community regardless of their age, race, religious affiliation, or sexual orientation to socialize, exchange ideas and information, and to provide and receive emotional support.

Meetings

To attend a meeting, please use our contact form. Our meetings are held on the first Saturday of every month at 8:00 PM in Washington's Crossing New Jersey, doors generally open around 7:00 PM. We charge a meeting fee of $10 for members and $15 for non-members. There is no charge to attend your first meeting. First time contacts, please tell us about yourself and why you are looking for a support group.

The support group provides food and refreshments at each meeting and generally a program related to transgender issues. At 9:30 PM, we provide an optional group support session. Here you can share your feelings and talk to others like yourself. Please arrive before 8:00 PM if you need to change at the meeting.
